IMPACT

COVENTURE was established in 2017 in response to the Colorado Office of Economic Development’s study on “economic resiliency” that highlighted talent retention, economic diversity and smart growth as a few of the hallmarks necessary for rural communities to thrive in uncertain times. 

In 2018, we opened a coworking space at the Third Street Center in Carbondale and were successful in attracting almost 100 people to our entrepreneurial programming and coaching. The highlight of that year was a pitch event that secured $1.3 million in capital for 4 companies that resulted in 27 jobs (4 of which were directly created from capital raised at the pitch event) by the end of 2018.

In 2019, we rebranded and moved into our new location in downtown Carbondale. With the help of both grants and a 2:1 match commitment for 5 years from local partners, we evolved from a coworking site to a business incubator offering robust programming, coaching and strategic partnership connections for early-stage businesses looking to scale to larger markets. 

COVENTURE is focused on job growth, job retention and capital formation to help local businesses survive and thrive. 

By the end of 2020, we celebrated 24 entrepreneur graduates from our Accelerator program, who have pitched their ideas to investors and our larger community of strategic partners and entrepreneurial enthusiasts. 

In 2021, in addition to our annual Accelerator, we launched an additional program exclusively for non-profit organizations.

In 2022, Coventure was proud to kick off the year with our ‘Back to Work’ Initiative. We spent many hours in 2021 interviewing companies and trying to understand their pain points around the Labor Shortage and were excited to launch our response to those concerns. We  provided complimentary consulting, Monday through Friday at COVENTURE, for a variety of business needs. We continue to host our ‘Listening Tour’ for local businesses who want to exchange best practices and just stay connected to others who are trying to find their way through the ongoing challenges created by the Pandemic.  We currently have over 120 businesses who have participated in these conversations and are excited to continue in 2023.
